How to Get Tested

A simple blood test called T. cruzi Antibody Total can indicate if you have Chagas disease. If you are positive on the first test, you may need to get a confirmatory test, which is also a simple blood test.

If you have donated blood after 2010, you have most likely been tested for Chagas disease already. People whose blood tests positive will receive a letter in the mail. Before 2007, blood donations were not routinely screened for Chagas disease.

If you live in Los Angeles County, you can get tested at the location below. Additionally, we periodically conduct screenings at health fairs throughout Los Angeles. Click here to see the times and locations of our next community screenings.

Testing Locations:

Olive View-UCLA Medical Center
14445 Olive View Drive, Room 2C121
Sylmar, CA 91342
